Who I am – A little about me

My name is Alberto and I was born and raised in a small village in Veneto, where my parents run a small winery. From an early age I began to appreciate nature, to respect it and to enjoy life in the countryside.
My first job was at a company that produced solid wood furniture – an experience that very quickly helped me understand the different quality of materials used in the furniture world.
Wood, for example, unlike plastic, is a natural, healthy, ecological, clean, recyclable and real element. You can touch it, it is a child of nature, it does not pollute, and it is ideal for sharing the spaces of our home.

Twelve years ago I started my company, bringing with me these values that sustain me in doing what I truly believe in.
It is our duty not to abuse nature and not to waste trees, but to enhance them.
We want to let the wood of our furniture show itself as it really is – with its grain and imperfections that make it unique.
I started with a single carpenter; now, after 12 years, we have three – and we are still looking for more.

Every time we make furniture, we listen to the customer, to what they dream of, in order to create something unique for their home or business.
You will never find a piece of furniture identical to yours in another home.
Without the ideas, opinions and dialogue with the buyer, there would be no evolution and no birth of something unique and new.
Why mass-produce something that people don't want, or that they would only buy because there are no alternatives that truly satisfy their needs and tastes?
Isn't it true that sometimes we buy the lesser evil, or something that resembles what we would like… but is not what we really want?

How do the ideas for our customers' projects come about?
New ideas come from my head, from my soul – I would dare say from my heart.
We don't have a designer; the ideas are a consequence of my way of living, my way of observing the world.
I observe and translate into sketches, small drawings that capture the images born from my imagination.

Then the customers arrive, and usually the response is: "Great idea! But would it be possible to adjust this? I'd like a different colour, I'd love a wine rack, etc."
This is how our furniture is born – very much by hand, in a human way.
Yes, it would be much easier to produce large quantities all at once, but this is precisely our uniqueness.
Only one-of-a-kind pieces.
Knowing that customers come to us because they haven't found what satisfies them in the mass market, and they trust in our abilities.
Perhaps we will never become rich… but often the happiness in our customers' eyes rewards us more than money.

We also have some highly appreciated and sought-after items – for example, our carpenter's table, a must-have that has set trends – a very rustic table with strong references to folk tradition that suits any setting: kitchen, bedroom, living room, shop, restaurant.
It instantly changes not only the room, but the entire home; its old-fashioned style has made it fashionable, and it is often used as a furnishing element in commercial shops.
In Italy, we are among the few who produce it.

Sometimes we forget that we are Italian and try to copy the big foreign companies.
Yet we have the quality: we do not produce something that gets thrown away after 10 days, but something almost eternal that your children and grandchildren will use.
We live in a country with over 70% of the world's cultural heritage – we have a taste appreciated all over the world.
We must use this unique DNA within us.
