COUNTRY style kitchen, made entirely of solid fir wood for the internal parts and the worktop and ash for the doors and drawers.
Why fir and why ash?
Fir is well suited to humid environments such as the kitchen, having excellent elasticity, water-repellent capacity and the necessary lightness that allows us to create long-lasting and extremely light base and wall unit structures. Furthermore, the high elasticity and stability of fir is also perfect for the creation of long worktops, without creating problems of annoying cracks in the wood.
We could use the slatted system to overcome the movement of the wood (a few centimetres of boards joined together which would however give us that unsightly chopping board effect), but we prefer woods suitable for the intended use.
Why ash?
The ash is simply gorgeous.
Hardwood cousin of the more famous oak but with a very flamed fiber and rich in light-dark tones, a wood that lends itself well to being left with its natural color, in fact this kitchen has been finished with a transparent water-based impregnator, a product made with natural and non-toxic resins that gives the surfaces a natural and satin effect.
It is not a kitchen for everyone, but only for those who have good taste and love "real" wood and want a piece of furniture that will last over time and above all that transmits sensations that only natural materials can give.
